How Throw Ratio & ANSI Lumens Work

Throw Ratio equals Lens Distance ÷ Screen Width. A 1.25:1 portable projector placed 9.1 feet back fills an 87-inch-wide (100" diagonal) 16:9 frame. Never confuse "light-source LED lumens" (often inflated 10×–15× on budget listings) with standardized ANSI lumens, which equals screen area in square feet multiplied by foot-lamberts (16 ft-L is SMPTE cinema dark-room standard).
